Leading the Latch Babies

Lauren
Leah came for a home visit the day after we returned from the hospital. Since our daughter was 3 weeks early, our baby was having difficulty latching. I benefitted from both Leah’s knowledge expertise and supportive, caring approach. In Leah’s first visit, she explained why our baby was experiencing challenges and provided a plan for us to use moving forward. She continued to check in through out the next week and provided ample resources for us to use. I felt supported throughout the whole process, which was critical for me as a first time mom. I would highly recommend Leah’s services to anyone seeking breastfeeding support. My breastfeeding relationship with my daughter has benefited greatly with Leah’s assistance, and she clearly cares about her clients and is passionate about the field.

I heard about Leah’s business through a friend. She came highly recommended. I received little lactation guidance while I was in the hospital and when I got home I quickly developed a lot of soreness and discomfort with breastfeeding. It was wonderful to have a lactation consultant come to the house. I wasn’t ready to venture out yet and being able to learn from the comfort from my own home was really helpful. Leah answered all my questions and had very helpful techniques for successful breastfeeding and pumping. Since her visit, breast feeding is a lot more comfortable and productive . I highly recommend Leah and her business Leading the Latch.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Leah’s heart is made of gold. My breastfeeding journey stretched me to my limit . Over the course of my maternity leave, I was in an out of triple feeding, struggled with adequate weight gain, a bottle refusal that lasted months and low milk supply. Leah was there every step of the way. Her compassionate, dynamic approach to caring for us was what got me through. When we first met, I was a modest mom to be. Under Leah’s guidance, I was able to bloom into a confident breastfeeding mom. She gave me power, knowledge and strength when I needed it most. She answered my hundreds of questions with patience and was always honest with me. I had a lot of determination to be successful but I give Leah so much of the credit for getting me there! I could not have done it without her and for that gift, I will be forever grateful. Wherever you are in your breastfeeding journey, I highly recommend Leah.

Leah and Katherine are both excellent! They really helped me on my breastfeeding journey with my first child, including a prenatal consult and an in-home visit a week after my son was born. They provided excellent support during those new and daunting stages. I really appreciate that they are always willing to answer any follow up questions and I feel confident knowing that I will have support from them down the road. I would highly recommend Leading the Latch for any lactation services you may need.

So very helpful! I worked with Leah/Leading the Latch from the newborn phase and beyond, including when I was preparing to return to work and figuring out how best to pump while at work. Leah has been very knowledgeable, very supportive, and flexible with scheduling visits. Her visits have always been helpful and reassuring. I don't think I'd have had such a positive breastfeeding/pumping journey without her!

Leah is an incredibly kind, supportive, and knowledgeable lactation specialist. From the moment we had our first consultation to follow-up visits and communication, she continuously provided quick and thorough responses to questions and suggestions that helped me and my newborn through the breast feeding process. Leah understands the nuances of being a first time mom, of difficulty with beginning and continuing breast feeding. She uses evidence based practice to support her recommendation and approaches consultation with kindness and support prioritizing both mom and baby. I highly recommend, Leah!

Leah has been more helpful than I could have imagined! First she helped us with what items to add to our registry, and more importantly, what items NOT to add to our registry. She cut through all the bad advice that’s given on social media and helped us feel prepared. I think her most helpful advice about nursing was- even if everything is going right, the first two weeks will be hard, but it will get easier. She was so right!
After working with Leah I’m such a believer in high quality care from an IBCLC. Nursing can be a challenge at the beginning and unless your pediatrician is also an IBCLC, they do not know all the little tweaks that can make a huge difference.
I recommend Leah and her team to all my friend who are pregnant and are interested in breast feeding. With feeding my baby there were a few hiccups where I may have decided breastfeeding wasn’t working for us had it not been for Leah’s advice and support. Leah recommended small, manageable changes that made all the difference.

Leah is amazing. She supported me with building a strong plan for my return back to work and I credit her for being the reason I have been able to reach my nursing goals with my little guy.
Leah is incredibly knowledgable, kind and nonjudgemental. I valued immensely that she was able to come to my home, see us in our element, and provided me with practical, individualized tips that reflected my goals as well as my lifestyle.
I wish that I had known about Leah before I gave birth and recommend her to all of my pregnant friends. She is absolutely AMAZING and I couldn't recommend Leah more.
